PROF. Anurag Banerjee

Graduated (with Honours in Accounting and Finance) in 2011 from The University of Calcutta, West Bengal. Thereafter completed his M.Com. (with specialization in Accounting and Finance), and Master of Philosophy in Commerce (with specialization in Banking) from The University of Calcutta. Dr. Banerjee also holds a Ph.D. from The University of Calcutta for his thesis titled “Financial Performance Of Indian Commercial Banks- A Study Of The Impact Of Selected Determinants With Emphasis On Business Cycle.” He has a research experience of six and half years.

During the M.Phil. days he worked with IIM-Calcutta as a Trainee Teaching Associate (TTA) in Finance and Accounting area. Besides, he is also experienced in taking PG and UG courses (in the domain of Accounting and Finance) at institutions affiliated with The University of Calcutta as well as MAKAUT under the Government of West Bengal and also at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. He also worked with Poonawalla Fincorp Limited for twenty months (Formerly known as Magma Fincorp Limited) before shifting to academics. Prior to joining the Delhi School of Business, he had been working with IIM-Visakhapatnam as a Teaching and Research Assistant in the domain of Accounting and Finance. His present teaching assignments include Financial Management (Core paper); Cost and Management Accounting (Core paper) and Financial Derivatives and Risk Management (Elective).

Besides the core specialization in Accounting and Finance, his research interest lies in Analysis of unit-level household data; Mixed Data Sampling (MIDAS) techniques; Impact of Policies in Banking. During his Ph.D., he received the best paper award, 1st prize at the 5th  Management Doctoral Colloquium (VGSOM Research Scholar’s Day 2019) at Vinod Gupta School of Management- Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, among 80 pan-IIM and IIT papers, for the research paper titled “An Analysis of determinants of Liquidity of the Indian Commercial Banks, Behaviour in Interaction with Financial Crisis”. Moreover, his recent contribution include the Working Paper Series (Working paper No. 1249) with the Asian Development Bank Institute, Tokyo, Japan, in collaboration with Flame University, Pune. In addition to UGC and ICI indexed journals he has accepted papers with ABDC-B (The Indian Economic Journal, Sage) and other ongoing ABDC papers in the pipeline. He also has proficiency in statistical software like Stata and R.
